Rustam Minnikhanov meets leadership of the Sichuan Investment Corporation

On October 10, in Chengdu (China) Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met leadership of the Sichuan Investment Corporation.

Welcoming the Chinese colleagues, Minnikhanov noted that he was impressed by the pace of development of Sichuan Province. "We have visited some very interesting companies. There are many areas in which we could implement our joint projects," he said.

The cooperation of Tatarstan and China is actively developing, he added, a number of Chinese companies are already working with Tatarstan. Among them are China National Chemical and Engineering Corporation, Haier, Hawtai Motors and others.

“The work on the implementation of joint Tatarstan-Chinese projects in the fields of construction, agriculture, logistics, manufacturing of furniture, transformers, cement and so on is underway," Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President emphasized that the Europe - Western China Transport Corridor will come through Tatarstan. It is planned that the project will be developed within the framework of the economic zone of the new Silk Road. Also, according to Minnikhanov, Chinese companies are interested in participating in the development of the Sviyazhsk Interregional Multimodal Logistics Center.

“Tatarstan is one of the leading and industrially developed regions of Russia. This year, our republic has taken first place in the ranking of the Russian regions having the best investment climate,” he said.

Rustam Minnikhanov called petrochemicals one of the main areas for cooperation. "We need to meet more often and actively work on all these issues. The sooner we consider possible projects, the quicker we can reach real results," he continued.

Representatives of Sichuan Investment Corporation thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for his visit and expressed their interest in expanding relations between Tatarstan and Sichuan.
