On November 10, head of Tatarstan President’s Press office Andrei Kuzmin commented on messages about possible terrorist attacks and subversions appearing in social networks.

“I want to announce that all messages about threats possible terrorist attacks and subversions appearing in social networks are provocative. Someone is interested in spreading panic and tension in the public. Relevant organizations and enforcement agencies are conducting investigations why this information appeared in social networks and who is interested in distributing this information. Legal evaluation will then be provided.”

Kuzmin also informed that Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov is aware of the situations and gave an order to enforcement agencies to take measures for preventing distribution of false information in the public.

“Information about anti-terrorist operations being held in the republic is also false. The situation is under the control and the internal affairs divisions are working as usual. Information about it is available on the website of Tatarstan Ministry of Internal Affairs.”

“I want to ask citizens not to give in to panic and not to distribute information about false threats, and stand up against provokers.”
