First construction phase of Sviyazhsk multi-modal logistics center completed in Tatarstan

On December 3, at a business breakfast organized by Russian Ministry of Transport it was anounced that the first construction phase of Sviyazhsk multi-modal logistics center was completed.

Heads of Russian regions, investment funds, transport and construction organizations took part in the breakfast held within the framework of Transport week in Moscow.

The Republic of Tatarstan was presented by the President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Participants of the event shared their opinions about existing and major perspective projects in the sphere of road and transport infrastructure.

Rustam Minnikhanov told about construction of Sviyazhsk multi-modal logistics center that is aimed at consolidation of automobile, railway and river traffic flow and development of international transport corridors. Currently, the transportation volume in the republic makes 45 mln tones, and it is planned to concentrate 25 per cent of traffic in Sviyazhsk multi-modal logistics center by 2020, and 40 per cent by 2030.

The first construction phase cost 8 bln rubles. Further stages wil include granting of the status of specialized economic zone to the logistics center, and attraction of additional private investments.
