On December 3, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the event where Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered the Annual Presidential Address to the Federal Assembly. The Address was traditionally delivered at the Kremlin’s St George Hall before an audience of more than 1,000 people.
Those present for the Address included members of the Federation Council, State Duma deputies, members of the Government, heads of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts, regional governors, heads of regional legislative assemblies, heads of Russia’s traditional religious faiths, public figures, including heads of regional public chambers, and the heads of Russia’s biggest media outlets.
The Address began with a moment of silence to commemorate the memory of soldiers who gave their lives fulfilling their duties, memory of all Russian citizens who were killed by terrorists.
The Address touched upon such topics as the threat of international terrorism, relations with Turkey, the preparation for the upcoming 2016 elections to the State Duma, fighting corruption, improving the independence and objectivity of the court process, as well as strengthening the role of a jury, support for people with low income, import substitution, the modernization of transport infrastructure and others.
