Rustam Minnikhanov meets Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani

On December 8, during his official visit to Doha, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to discuss development of trade-economic and investment cooperation between Tatarstan and Qatar.

Minnikhanov noted that since 2013 Qatar delegation has taken part in KAZANSUMMIT (The International Summit of Islamic business and finances) that is held in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan.  He said that Tatarstan is one of the most economically developed, stable and innovative regions in Russia.

Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in his turn, welcomed the guests and noted the importance of building long-term relations between Qatar and Tatarstan as one of Russian regions. Moreover, he informed about sending representatives of the Qatar Investment Authority for studying economic and investment potential of the republic in the nearest time.

Aide to Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia in Qatar Nurmakhmad Kholov, and Deputy Director of the Department for foreign relations of Tatarstan President Marat Gatin took part in the meeting.
