Mikhail Babich and Rustam Minnikhanov take part in solemn event dedicated to the Heroes of the Motherland Day

On December 9, at a solemn event dedicated to the Heroes of the Motherland Day at Musa Dzhalil Tatar State Academic Theatre in Kazan, Russian Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Heroes of Russia and the Soviet Union and Heroes of socialist labour on the important date.

Earlier on the same day, Mikhail Babich and Rustam Minnikhanov laid flowers to the Eternal Flame, looked around the military equipment and visited the “Memorial book” complex, talked to young cadets and members of searching groups in the Victory Park.  

At the main solemn event held at the theatre flags of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan and Victory Banner were carried to the stage.

Mikhail Babich congratulated everyone on the holiday. He said that heroes of the motherland undertake an important mission when they transfer their knowledge to young people and lay the foundation of the future generation of patriots and defenders of Russia.

Speaking at the event, Rustam Minnikhanov said that all heroes made priceless contribution to enhancing the security of the country, its power and integrity. First of all, the president recalled heroes of WWII, whose heroic deeds will always remain in hearts of future generations.  

Hero of Russia, General of the Army Aleksandr Baranov, who took part in the event, thanked leadership of the country for the support given to Heroes of the Motherland and their families.
