The first stage of reconstructing international airport “Kazan” is planned to be finished by October, 2011. This has been announced today at briefing in RT Cabinet.
According to head of section of economy, finances and management for state property of RT Cabinet office Ruslan Shakirov the plan of reconstruction implies three stages.
Within realization of the first stage it is meant to construct a new terminal 1A with acceptance capacity 1,2 mln. passengers per year. Moreover, new workshop of on-board power supply, multi-level car parking, new building of aviation-control service, fire and search-and-rescue station are to be constructed. The cost of construction works is evaluated at sum of 32 mln. dollars. Currently, the works are under way.
The second stage implies pulling down the present terminal 1 and construction of new one 1B with acceptance of 2 mln. passengers per year. It is to be finished by the Universiade 2013.
The third stage will be implemented in case of growing volumes of passenger traffic in international airport “Kazan”. It is planned to build the third terminal with acceptance rate 2 mln. passengers per year.
The project’s investor is Bulgarian company “Bulgarian Aviation Group”.
