Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan Ministry of Emergency Situations is an effective and powerful structure that is able to counteract any threats

On December 17, at a solemn event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and 20th anniversary of Tatarstan Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the Ministry of Emergency Situations is an effective and powerful structure that is able to counteract any threats.

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, the regional minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Natural Disaster Relief Rafis Khabibullin, Head of Volga regional center of Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Igor Panshin and first deputy Prime Minister Aleksei Pesoshin attended the event.

Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that an effective system of emergency response and natural disaster relief has been successfully developing for years in Tatarstan.

Minnikhanov thanked the founder and first federal minister of emergency situations Sergey Shoigu, Russian Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Natural Disaster Relief Vladimir Puchkov, and Head of Volga regional center of Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Igor Panshin for joint constructive work. He noted that implementation of new effective methods and technical solutions are important for the ministry, therefore it has been recognized the best in the country several times and has been chosen as a pilot region.

Rustam Minnikhanov handed over state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan to best employees of Tatarstan Ministry of Emergency Situations, and a medal of the order “Of merit for the Republic of Tatarstan” to Rafis Khabibullin, the regional minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Natural Disaster Relief.
