Flowers laid to Gabdulla Tukai’s monument on the poet’s birthday in Kazan

April 26, a flower laying ceremony to mark to the birthday of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai was held at the monument to the poet. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture Zilya Valeyeva, Chief of Staff of the Tatarstan President Yuri Kamaltynov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, deputies of the republican parliament and others took part in the ceremony.


“For all peoples conservation of the language is a central issue. With the language customs and traditions, the best the previous generation has, are handed down. The nation, the national spirit are preserved through the language. The Mother Language Day is a big and bright holiday. In our republic, it is dated to the birthday of the great poet, the wise man Gabdulla Tukai,” said in Farid Mukhametshin an interview. “A lot of people – writers, politicians, leaders of older and younger generations who not only like and remember poems, prose, great thoughts of the poet but also understand that without the language it will not be possible to preserve the language.”
