On January 18, problems of nature use were discussed at a session of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage in Volga Federal District “On results of state ecological supervision in the district in 2015 and priority tasks for 2016” in Kazan.
Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage Artem Sidorov told that Volga Federal District is one of the leading regions by the level of industrial development, and rich natural resources require proper state ecological supervision. Sidorov added that Russian Presidential Envoy in the district Mikhail Babich personally controls environmental problems.
It was noted that 13,000 facilities are subject to federal ecological supervision in Volga Federal District, where the central waterway of Russia - the Volga River - is located. Therefore, competent authorities are highly responsible for fulfillment of their duties.
In his greetings read out by Aide to Russian Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District Oleg Mashkovtsev Mikhail Babich said that in the modern context environmental protection is a very important factor of social and economic development of the country.
