Rustam Minnikhanov and Turkish Ambassador Halil Akıncı discussed the prospects for further cooperation

On May 20 President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in the Russian Federation Halil Akıncı. The meeting took place at the EFES group factory in Kazan ( Tikhoretskaya str.).

We remind that ceremonial opening of the new malting complex site of EFES group took place here today. Addressing the guests of the ceremony, Mr. Halil Akıncı said that the Republic of Tatarstan is the third region of Russia by the amount of Turkish investments. He noted that Turkey and the Republic of Tatarstan have strong trade and cultural relations.

The private meeting between President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Ambassador of Turkey to the Russian Federation Mr. Halil Akıncı took place after the opening ceremony of new production line. The parties discussed prospects of further cooperation in several areas.

Rustam Minnikhanov and Halil Akıncı exchanged views on issues of trade and economic relations between Tatarstan and Turkey.

We shall recall that President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov last visited Turkey as part of the official Russian delegation on May 11, 2010 . Earlier, on May 4, 2010, he took part into laying the first stone into the foundation of two new Turkish companies production lines in the Alabuga special economic zone ceremony of laying ("Kastamonu Entegre" is part of "Hayat" holding; "Trakya Cam Sanayii" is part of "Şişecam" group).
