More than 1 billion roubles will be allocated in 2010 for organization of children recreation in Tatarstan

Realization of state policy on ensuring protection of children rights and interests in Tatarstan have been discussed at traditional video conference briefing in House of RT government. All municipal districts participated in the event.

RT Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov, RT Deputy minister of education and science Airat Zinnurov, RT Deputy minister of labor, employment and social protection Natalia Butaeva answered questions of mass media representatives.

According to Rafis Burganov the program “Children of Tatarstan” has been realized in republic for many years. It is financed from republican budget. So, for 2010 the budget makes 46 mln. roubles. Besides, RT Ministry of sport provides financing of children rights protection and coordination of the work of proper structures (volume of financing for 2010 – 16 mln. roubles).

The program “Children of Tatarstan” is aimed at creation of favorable conditions for children life activity, government support of children finding themselves in hard living conditions. It has eight subprograms - “healthy generation”, “disabled children”, “talented children”, subprogram on ensuring children recreation, support of public associations and organizations, prevention of neglect and others.

Moreover, two well-known centres – centre for children with deviant behavior and centre “Wind rose” for former drug addicts. About 200 clubs and 900 societies are functioning in Tatarstan.

In 2010 7 000 children from Tatarstan will spend holidays on Black Sea coast.

Rafis Burganov also told about realization of such special programs as “Sons of regiment” (project for neglected children realized jointly with Kazan higher military command school – former Kazan higher tank command school), social-psychological program for children susceptible to deviant behavior, “Star force” (organization of summer holidays in special shifts).

Natalia Butaeva told about social support of children in Tatarstan. By her words, 12,5 bln. roubles are spent in republic for social protection.
