On February 9, at the Innopolis University Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Information Technology and Communication of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov, and Minister Education and Science of the republic Engel Fattakhov took part in a ceremony of awarding the winners of an IT Champion competition.
The list of winners in the Most Active School nomination includes the Burdin secondary school in Tukayev region, Korsabash main school in Saby region, Tubylgytaus main school in Novisheshminsk region, and others. The five leading schools were awarded TVs. Ninety-six per cent of the Tatarstan schools took part in the nomination.
Ilsaf Kulmukhametov of Kurmanaev main school in Nurlat region, David Ganiakhin in Osinovo grammar school in Zelenogolsk region, and others are on the list of top five winners of the first stage of the competition stage.
Based on the results, the schoolchildren were presented tablet PCs and smartphones.
“I envy you a little, as you are in a new town, at a new university,” Fattakhov said addressing schochildren. “You have a bright future in front of you, you only need to study, work and set ambitious tasks,” he continued.
Fattakhov went on to say that in three years 420 people participated in the competition, with 1,086 schoolchildren winning prizes, while the number of personal accounts at the Tatarstan public services website increased to 1.5 million.
“You live in Tatarstan, this region is rich in intelligent, creative and goal-oriented people. I wish you to be admitted to this university, settle in this campus and aim for heights that at first glance seem unreachable,” Shaikhutdinov pointed out.
He called on the students to set their sights on the information technologies industry that offers great opportunities. Tatarstan Minister then presented awards to the most active users of the public services website.
Minnikhanov reminded that, when first launched, online public services boomed, but at some point later on the growth stopped.
“We had to find a decision to improve the situation. I suggested making this scheme and asking school students, the most advanced part of the population, for help,” Minnikhanov said. The number of online public services rendered is the merit of school students as well, he added.
“You can approve yourselves not only in the IT industry. We need engineers, teachers, etc. What matters the most is a solid basic education. You need to know the Russian and Tatar languages, mathematics, physics, chemistry and history. The knowledge you gain at school will greatly benefit you,” Minnikhanov concluded.
