Rustam Minnikhanov meets Deputy Head of Japanese Embassy in Russia

On February 24, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Deputy Head of Japanese Embassy in Russia Hitoshi Ozawa at Ammonia plant in Mendeleevsk, Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed Japanese colleagues and thanked them for supporting projects implemented in the republic. He noted that construction of Ammoni plant is the example of effective cooperation between Russia and Japan.

“Strengthening of contacts between the Republic of Tatarstan and Japan within the framework of Russia-Japan relations is very important for us. Today a wide range of Japanese companies are actively cooperating with Tatarstan enterprises and educational institutions. We should continue developing this area,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

The parties discussed prospective areas of cooperation, such as construction, agriculture, medicine, automotive industry, and tourism.  

Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Minister of Economy Artem Zdunov, Aide to Tatarstan President Rinat Sabirov, and Board Chairman of OAO “Ammoni” Rinat Khanbikov took part in the meeting.
