On February 25, at Tatarstan Government House, Prime Minister of the republic Ildar Khalikov met the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran led by the Minister of Health and Medical Education Sadrossadat Seyed Ali Seyed Mostafa.
Khalikov welcomed the delegation in Kazan and noted that the history of close cooperation between Tatarstan and Iran started in 1996 when the first president of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev visited Teheran. However, in spite of the 20-year cooperation, the economic benefit is far from the desired result.
The Prime Minister continued that a number of regional enterprises such as PJSC Tatneft and JSC Kazan helicopters cooperate with Iran today. He reminded that during the construction of Kol Sharif Mosque Iranian Government handed over Persian carpets to Tatarstan.
A lot of regional companies consider Iran as a prospective site for implementing major long-term projects.
Participants of the meeting discussed a few areas for further effective cooperation, including purchasing of the Ansat helicopters by Iran. According to Iranian Deputy Minister of Health, the helicopters will be used for air emergency medical service.
