The 4th International research and practice conference on intelligent transport systems was held in Kazan on February 25. Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov said that previous conferences that were held in 2010, 2012 and 2014 showed interest in this topic among Russian and foreign scientists.

This year more than 800 people including representatives of eight countries, Germany, Hungary, Finland, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Canada and Kazakhstan are taking part in the conference. Tatarstan is interested in this event because its leadership is aimed at decreasing the rate of accidents and injuries on roads.

At a plenary session Ildar Khalikov said that technical road safety solutions are being developed in Tatarstan. Some of them are unique for Russia.  More than 1100 multi-purpose, fixed, mobile units and automated systems fix traffic violations on more than 1.7 thousand traffic lanes in the republic.  The adaptive traffic management system for crossings is successfully developing.

The problem of equipping paid parking spaces is being efficiently solved in Kazan.
