Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in meeting of Kazan City Duma of the third convocation

On February 26, at the Kazan City Hall Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the fifth summing up meeting of Kazan City Duma of the third convocation.  

Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, who chaired the meeting, reported that the gross territorial product in Kazan in 2015 amounted to 604.3 billion. roubles, which is almost 39 billion more than in 2014. The volume of shipped goods of local production is 320.4 billion roubles against 278.2 billion roubles in 2014.

According to the Mayor, some indicators saw decreases. In particular, industrial production growth made 95.6 per cent as compared with 2014, the volume of investments in the economy of the city fell from 161 billion roubles in 2014 to 153 billion roubles. The retail trade turnover amounted to 446.1 billion roubles (449.9 billion roubles in 2014).

However, he noted that the trend of faster growth of manufacturing industries in comparison with the production of fuel and energy resources remained in 2015.

At present there are more than 3.5 thousand trade facilities, 1.6 thousand public catering facilities and 1.5 thousand untilities service facilities in Kazan.

"The city has an efficient system of support for innovation infrastructure, including a network of technology parks and business incubators. In 2015 five more sites were added to the existing ones," the Mayor said.

In 2015 the average monthly wages in the economy sector amounted to 33 271 roubles, with the growth rate of 104 per cent. The average wage at large and medium-sized enterprises increased by 5.9 per cent, at small by1.9 per cent.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov, in particular, noted that it is important to continuethe work on the improvement of parks and gardens. He said that last year a lot of work on the improvement and reconstruction of parks and gardens was done, especially in Kazan.

He also expressed gratitude to the leaders of large and small companies, the business community for assistance in the implementation of this programme.

Speaking about deceived housing construction investors Minnikhanov said that this issue is complex and cannot be resolved promptly.

According to him, Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny are the most problematic cities in this matter. “Together with the law enforcement agencies we will help to resolve the problem,” he pledged.

“The Fon and Svay firms have caused so much tension in the shared-equity housing construction that the task needs to be resolved by you personally, Ilsur Raisovich,”  Minnikhanov told Kazan Mayor.

He also noted that despite the immense work being done in the housing and utilities sector, there still are many complaints about the quality of service, and curtilage area and road maintenance. “These issues need to be under our control,”  Tatarstan President stressed.

According to him, the car parking system needs to be regulated. “This system needs to be regulated. There should be order in car parking. Residents leave their cars on the pavement and in green areas, blocking passage. A few cars should not spoil what the city is building,” Minnikhanov concluded.
