President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan is greatly interested in cooperation with company “Haldor Topsoe”

“Tatarstan is greatly interested in cooperation with company “Haldor Topsoe”. We may jointly develop projects in various spheres”, - RT President Rustam Minnikhanov said at a meeting with CEO of “Haldor Topsoe” company (Denmark) Mr Niels Kegel Sorensen.

The meeting was held in House of RT government.

Welcoming the guests – top managers of “Haldor Topsoe” Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that today Tatarstan economy first of all implies petrochemistry and oil - processing and future growth is connected with development of these spheres.

Today republic is engaged into modernization of large industrial enterprises such as JSC “TAIF”, JSC “Nizhnekamskneftehim” and others. New factories are also being built in republic; volumes of tyres production are growing (JSC “Nizhnekamskshina”). JSC “KAMAZ” is one of the largest customers of this production.

These factors impel us to search for reliable partners for creation and development of new plants. Republic is cooperating with “Haldor Topsoe” in such projects as JSC “TANECO” (Complex of oil-refining and petrochemical plants in Nizhnekamsk) and JSC “Ammonium” (plant for producing ammonia, methanol and granulated carbamide in Mendeleevsk).

RT President noted as well that today cooperation in such spheres as organization of joint work, training, exchange of experience between “Haldor Topsoe” and republican universities, particularly Kazan state technological university which has obtained the status of federal research university.

Niels Sorensen, in his turn, expressed interest towards cooperation with Tatarstan. He briefly presented company’s activity and reminded that “Haldor Topsoe” was founded in 1940. Annual turnover of the company in 2009 made 750 mln. euro. Today 2100 employees work in the company. Offices are located all over the world (Denmark, USA, India, Russia, e.t.c.).

The customers of equipment and technologies of “Haldor Topsoe” are enterprises which produce fertilizers and products of petrochemistry and companies working in the spheres of oil-processing, ecology and energy.

In Russia the company has been working for 20 years already.
