Turkmenistan will buy more than 1,000 KAMAZ trucks and Tatarstan-made special cars

Turkmenistan is ready to buy more than a thousand KAMAZ trucks and special cars manufactured in Tatarstan. The statement was made by Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov at the meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on August 2.

The delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan led by Rustam Minnikhanov is on a two-day visit to Turkmenistan (1-2 August 2010).

The range of our cooperation is expanding continuously, and besides trade and economic cooperation we should also involve the research and technical potential of our republics, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov said. He went on to say that today Turkmenistan is ready to discuss more active bilateral relations including those in commerce, agriculture and shipbuilding.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said at the meeting that Tatar and Turkmen peoples are similar in culture, languages and faith. This is the foundation of our relationship.

Rustam Minnikhanov said the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences and the Turkmenistan Academy are preparing an agreement to sign. It is aimed at establishing a joint centre for retraining experts in Tatarstan and Russian higher education establishments.
