14 April 2016, Thursday

On April 14, at Tatarstan Government House, speaking at a seminar on increasing cooperation between regional engineering and prototyping centers with industrial enterprises Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that engineering centers established in Tatarstan need to be a serious research platform for industrial enterprises.

Opening the seminar, Minnikhanov reminded that Tatarstan participates in federal programmes aimed at developing regional engineering centres. With the support of Russian Economic Development Ministry, Tatarstan established and put into operation four engineering centres and two prototyping centres. Minnikhanov said they had state-of-the-art equipment, one of the best in Russia.

“Most importantly, the centres need to work with goods manufacturers. We understand that our competitive ability under current conditions depend on manufacturability and opportunity to present the products within import substitution,” Minnikhanov said.

“We think we need to make maximum use of the centres and that they need to be strongly involved with larger and medium businesses. Besides, I think the centres need to work for fast-paced innovation small businesses as well,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

He added that it is important that industrial manufacturers display an interest in the centres reciprocally.

Representatives from the centres made reports at the seminar. Minnikhanov assessed their activities, suggesting intensifying their efforts in increasing cooperation with industrial enterprises.
