President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited Kazakhstan

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov discussed issues of developing trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan.

The meeting was held in Astana.

Nursultan Nazarbaev is sure that cooperation between Kazakhstan and such large region of Russia as Tatarstan is traditionally based on friendship and trust and will be successfully developing.

It was noted that such spheres as mechanical engineering, oil and petrochemical sectors, agriculture, innovations are perspective areas for cooperation. Parties consider realization of joint innovative projects in the sphere of road construction and petrochemistry.

While staying in Kazakhstan Rustam Minnikhanov also met with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov. In the meeting took part RT Minister of agriculture and foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, plenipotentiary of Tatarstan in Kazakhstan Damir Ismagilov, Aide to Tatarstan President Iskander Muflikhanov, on behalf of Kazakhstan – officials of Ministry of agriculture and leadership of state holding “KazAgro”.

Parties discussed further perspectives of cooperation on joint projects with JSC “KAMAZ”, JSC “Kazan helicopter plant” and others.

The main emphasis was put on procurement of forage grain from Kazakhstan to Tatarstan.

By words of Aide to Tatarstan President Iskander Muflikhanov, Rustam Minnikhanov visited Palace of independence and football stadium for 30 000 places. Ceremony of opening Winter Asian games 2011 is planned to be held at this very stadium.
