On May 6, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov paid a working visit to Arsk municipal region, where he made a helicopter flight over the region’s fields.

During his meeting with heads of farms, investors and heads of rural settlements of Arsk region, Minnikhanov was informed about the progress of spring-field works, current situation, and availability of seed material, mineral fertilizers and petroleum in the region.

Head of Arsk region Ilshat Nuriev reported that the sowing campaign started on April 30, with 25,000 hectares having been sowed. The area of farmland set aside for spring crops makes about 67,000 hectares, which is about a half of the total area of the arable land (122,000 hectares). About 2,000 hectares of land is meant for cultivating potatoes.

Minnikhanov called the region’s leadership and heads of farms to focus not only on the production of agricultural products, but also on their selling and processing.
