RT President meets with participants of Forum of Tatar religious figures

Today President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with participants of Forum of Tatar religious figures “National originality and religion". Meeting took place at RT House of Government.

The following persons joined the action: RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, Deputy RT Premier - Minister of culture Zilya Valeyeva, Chairman of Mufties Council of Russia Ravil Gainutdin, Chairman of Spiritual Board of Muslims Talgat Tadzhudin, Mufti of Tatarstan Gusman Iskhakov and many others.

Head of the republic welcomes the guests and marked that such meetings should be held as often as possible. They help to discuss problems of Tatar people and Muslims. By words of R. Minnikhanov it is necessary to maintain connections with populated settlements where a mosque and medresse are functioning. "Mosques and medresse are basis of preservation of nation Rustam Minnikahnov says.

As RT President mentioned, religion plays an important role in issue of preserving language and national traditions. "We, Tatars, must preserve unity", - he stressed.

Islam is a religion of peace and the good , President reminded and marked that one should exert all efforts for radial moods not to penetrate into our mosques. Future imams must be taught at the motherland, Rustam Minnikhanov considers and all conditions have been created for this end. Russian Islamic University is functioning in Tatarstan.

RT President wished successful work to forum participants.

In his turn Ravil Gainutdin thanked leadership of Tatarstan for warm hosting in Tatarstan having mentioned that this was the first Forum of Tatar religious figures of such a scale.
