Rustam Minnikhanov: Cooperation with ASEAN is interesting for Tatarstan

On May 19, at ASEAN – Russia Business Forum in Sochi, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Cooperation with ASEAN is interesting for the republic.
At the session "Towards New ASEAN — Russia Economic Partnership: Essential Tools, Mechanisms and Drivers of Growth,"Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is one of the leading and industrially developed regions in Russia, with the population of 3.9 mln people. Oil industry is well developed in the region, 33 mln tons of oil are produced there every year.
Minnikhanov also highly appreciated the cooperation with Singapore, in particular, with Educare company and the contribution of Singapore companies to the development of electronic government in Tatarstan.

Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.

On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.

On 1 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in N.I. Lobachevsky Prize and Medal Award Ceremony held in Kazan Federal University and handed in the award to the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Researcher of the St. Petersburg Department of Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Ivanov who was awarded for the outstanding achievements in fundamental and applied mathematics.
