Rustam Minnikhanov: Germany is one of the leading foreign trade partners of Tatarstan

On June 2, speaking at an opening ceremony of the Saxony – Tatarstan Economic Forum  in Dresden Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is open for mutually beneficial cooperation and is willing to develop contacts. “We are interested in Saxon companies choosing Tatarstan as a platform to enter the Russian market,” he added.

Welcoming representatives of the Saxon business interested in developing relations with Tatarstan, Minnikhanov thanked the leadership of Russia and Germany for the support of joint projects. 

He reminded that that five years ago, in March 2011, he visited the Free State of Saxony and participated in the Leipzig Fair.

"I am convinced that the current visit will give a new impetus to developing cooperation between the two regions. I am glad to present the economic and investment potential of Tatarstan. We are interested in attracting German business and capital to Tatarstan and will be happy to expand mutually beneficial relations and are ready to provide all possible assistance," he said.

"We expect that during this visit Tatarstan and Saxon business community will open new areas for cooperation and agree on joint projects," he said.

Minnikhanov said that Germany is one of the leading foreign trade partners of Tatarstan. He reminded that Tatarstan-German trade turnover amounted to over 1 billion euros in 2015.
