Rustam Minnikhanov: while energy efficiency projects are developing the demand for Rockwool International products will keep raising

Construction of the Rockwool International facilities at the Alabuga Special Economic Zone was in the focus at the meeting of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the company’s president Eelco van Heel on October 11 at the RT House of Government.

Greeting the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov recalled that Rockwool was one of the zone’s first residents and one of the Tatarstan’s strategic partners.

“The work to build a new Rockwool heat insulation plant in the Alabuga zone is going the right way,” Rustam Minnikhanov said, expressing confidence production would be rolled out as scheduled.

The Tatarstan President went on to noted the Rockwool products had enjoyed a well-deserved demand for in the world as well as in Tatarstan. They are used by the JSC Taneco, JSC Kamaz and in housing construction.

Besides, Rustam Minnikhanov believes the role of Rockwool products in the local economy is going to increase.

Rockwool International CEO Eelco van Heel noted the project in the Alabuga zone was progressing at a fast pace. Today, when the economic crisis is over, the company is interested in stepping up the work. Eelco van Heel said the launch ceremony was scheduled for the first quarter of 2012. The scope of issues brought up at the meeting included the project’s energy supply, energy tariffs, as well as organising the customs service’s operation, the Tatarstan President’s press service reports.
