On June 16, at their meeting within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and management of the Saint-Gobain company held talks on expanding cooperation.
Minnikhanov noted that the "Saint-Gobain" company is one of the leading flat glass manufacturers, including construction and transport industries. “Your products are in great demand, and today it is important to find new forms of our collaboration to expand cooperation,” Minnikhanov said.
The Saint-Gobai is implementing a joint project with the Turkey's Sisecam holding in the SEZ "Alabuga" for the production of automotive glass and building materials. Director General of Saint-Gobain in Russia Erwan Dupuy said that a ceremony of launching new production facilities will held in the SEZ “Alabuga” at the beginning of July.
He briefed about future plans of the company. In particular, the company is holding a contest among start-up construction companies in innovation, efficiency, and distribution. Tatarstan start-up companies were invited to participate in the competition.
In his turn Minnikhanov offered the Saint-Gobain leadership to make a presentation of their innovative products for representatives of the construction industry of the republic to get them acquainted with modern materials in the industry.
Minnikhanov also suggested considering the possibility of expanding production facilities in Tatarstan or opening a new plant. “We will support your projects. You you could see that we have the experience of successful cooperation with foreign companies, and there are sites for the development of production,” he said.
