Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Prime Minister of Republic of Korea Hwang Kyo-ahn

On June 20, during his working visit to Seoul, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Hwang Kyo-ahn.

Welcoming the guests, Mr. Hwang Kyo-ahn expressed his hope that this visit will be a "bridge" to strengthen cooperation. He said that he is aware of the favorable investment climate in Tatarstan.

According to him, the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan, has became particularly recognizable in the Republic of Korea after the 2013 World Summer Universiade.

Mr. Hwang Kyo-ahn  continued that since establishing diplomatic relations between South Korea and Russia 25 years ago, trade turnover between the countries has increased by 130 times. Due to a visa-free regime between the two countries introduced from January 1, 2014 the number of Russian tourists visiting Korea has increased up to 300,000 people.

In his turn Minnikhanov thanked the Prime Minister for the meeting and excellent organization of the visit.

"We would like to intensify our contacts with your country. Tatarstan is represented by a large delegation, which include members of Tatarstan Governemnt, heads of large companies, representatives of businesses. During our visit, a lot of meetings have been held, as well as the Korea-Tatarstan business forum.  I'm sure we will find a lot of points for cooperation," he said.
