Rustam Minnikhanov visits Gobi cashmere factory in Mongolia

On June 21, during his working visit to Mongolia, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Gobi cashmere factory.  

The Gobi company is one of the pioneers in the wool and cashmere processing industry in Mongolia. Established in 1981 using the funds of the Japan Government, now it is the largest national manufacturer. Since July 2007, the company structure and management have corresponded to that of the private enterprise.

Today the Gobi company is among five largest world manufacturers of cashmere and camel wool, employing 1200 highly skilled specialists. Existing facilities allow to process up to 1200 tonnes of raw material annually.

Occupying more than half of the domestic market, the company exports its products to over 30 countries. In May this year the first Gobi store opened in Kazan.

Minnikhanov got acquainted with the complete production cycle. In particular, he visited the plant for sorting and cleaning raw materials, wool and cashmere painting line.

Then, Tatarstan President went to the largest Gobi store in Ulan Bator, where he got acquainted with the product range.
