Head of Tatarstan government Ildar Khalikov: The shortest way to partnership is development of connections in the sphere of culture and sport

Mrs Kazimira Danute Prunskene invited Tatarstan to take part in competitions of Baltic basketball league 2011-2012. She informed about it at the meeting with RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov that was held in House of RT government.
Former Prime Minister of Lithuanian republic, leader of the party Lithuanian people’s union Kazimira Prunskene is in Kazan with two-day visit (October, 20-21). Yesterday Kazimira Prunskene visited RT Ministry of agriculture and foodstuff where she discussed perspectives of cooperation in processing industry and foodstuff sector with the Minister Marat Akhmetov.
Ildar Khalikov noted that people still remember her name and her activity in Tatarstan and Kazan. He hoped that Mrs. Prunskene would see the highlights of Tatarstan capital, hold planned meetings and negotiations concerning the projects to be realized in future.
RT Prime Minister briefly characterized Tatarstan economy, told about plans in petrochemical and oil-refining sectors. Mainly he told about Complex of oil-refining and petrochemical plants that would be opened soon in Nizhnekamsk.
Head of RT government likewise paid attention to development of automobile industry in republic.
Ildar Khalikov also told about preparation for Universiade-2013 in Kazan and realization of the following projects in republic - “E-government”, “E-Tatarstan”. He reminded that by initiative of the President Rustam Minnikhanov the project “Electronic school” has started in republic.
Kazimira Prunskene in her turn announced that Lithuania and Tatarstan are comparable by many factors – volume of gross domestic product, quantity of population, e.t.c.). She told about the economy of her country. By her words, the key sectors in Lithuania are agriculture, processing industry, linen production, traditional craft and rural tourism.
Ildar Khalikov accepted the proposal on participation of Tatarstan sportsmen in competitions of Baltic basketball league and invited delegation of Lithuanian republic to take part in holiday “Sabantui” to learn more about Tatarstan culture and traditions. The shortest way to partnership is development of connections in the sphere of culture and sport, Ildar Khalikov noted.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects.
