President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in session of RF State Council Presidium

On October, 25 President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in session of RF State Council Presidium dedicated to social policy in relations to elderly people and improving level of their life.

The event was held by RF President Dmitry Medvedev.

Speaking to participants of the session, Dmitry Medvedev announced that care of elderly people is a state priority in our country. He reminded that today 30 mln. of elderly people live in Russia. One part of life quality of elderly people is medical aid and stable prices for medicines.

President of Russia paid special attention to the state of social institutions where elderly people also live. Besides RF President thinks that it is necessary to enhance the prestige of profession of social workers.

Head of RF Ministry of regional development Viktor Basargin informed about realization of program of housing improvement for veterans of Great Patriotic War.

Minister of economic development of Russia Elvira Nabiullina raised the question about providing employment among elderly people. Vice-premier of RF government Aleksandr Zhukov supported proposals on organizing special targeted programs on training old people.

Dmitry Medvedev suggested speeding up preparation of the bill about social services.
