Mikhail Babich visits House of Peoples’ Friendship of Tatarstan in Kazan

On July 21, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich and Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin visited the House of Peoples’ Friendship of Tatarstan in Kazan.

The House of Peoples’ Friendship of Tatarstan is the main site of the Assembly of the Peoples of Tatartsan. Founded in the republic in 1999, it moved to a new five-storied building in 2012 and houses nongovernmental national-cultural organizations, an informational centre, a concert hall, classes of the Multinational Sunday School.

Mikhail Babich was told that the Assembly include 85 national nongovernmental associations representing 35 peoples. There are 132 national-cultural centres in the republic.

During his visit to the Assembly, he talked to representatives of different peoples, in particular, the Uzbeks, the Azerbaijani, the Belarusians, the Bashkir, the Mari, Udmurt, the Dagestani, who told him about their traditions and holidays.

The guests also visited the Caucasian dance class, where they could see the creativity of children of different nationalities. Then, they went to see the Multinational Sunday School.
