Kazan and Algerian city Tlemsen to become twin cities

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to RF Smile Shergi. The meeting was held in RT Cabinet.
“Lately we have put much emphasis on Islamic world. We have good relations with countries and international organizations of Islamic world”, - Rustam Minnikhanov noted. By his words, visit of Algerian Ambassador to Tatarstan will facilitate strengthening of two-sided cooperation.
According to Director of Department for foreign relations under RT President - Aide to RT President on international issues Timur Akulov, oil industry makes the basis of economies in Algeria and Tatarstan. But unfortunately cooperation between two republics is developing not so intensively. Parties agreed on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and decided that Kazan and Tlemsen would become twin cities. President of Tatarstan invited Algerian delegation to Kazan. The delegation will consist of Governor of province, Mayor of Tlemsen and heads of higher educational institutions.
Tlemsen will become a cultural capital in 2011. By decisions of Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan will take part in cultural events in Tlemsen next year.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects.
