President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov flies to USA with working visit

November, 18. President of Tatarstan R.N.Minnikhanov has left for Silicon Valley (USA) with working visit.

Silicon Valley is a region in California State famous for a large number of high-tech companies which are engaged into elaborations and production of computers and their components, particularly microprocessors, software, mobile communication devices, biotechnologies. Original English of the valley originates from using silicon as a semi-conductor in production of microprocessors. This was the industry which gave rise to the history of valley as technological centre.

It is meant that within two-day visit Rustam Minnikhanov will held a number of meetings with officials of academic and business societies of Silicon Valley. Meet with members of Tatar community and visit a football match between the teams of Californian University and Stanford University.

Tatarstan delegation is represented by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of informatization and communications Nikolai Nikiforov, Director General of JSC “Tatneft” Shafagt Takhautdinov, Aide to the President Iskander Muflikhanov, rectors of Tatarstan universities, Director of State non-commercial organization “RT Investment-venture fund” Ainur Aideldinov and others.

We remind that delegation of Californian businessmen had visited our republic before. Visit of American delegation was dedicated to the forum “Global innovative partnership” when top managers of leading venture funds and well-known companies such as Intel, Network Equipment Technologies, Asset Management Company and others, arrived in Kazan.
