Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan’s major objective is to attract more foreign investors to the republic

“The major objective of Tatarstan is to attract more foreign investors to the republic,” Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said in his speech for representatives of investment and venture companies of the US Silicon Valley at the Microsoft campus.

Tatarstan is a good platform for investment of western capital in Russia, the head of the republic said during the presentation of Tatarstan. Enumerating Tatarstan’s advantages, Rustam Minnikhanov called its convenient geographical position, considerable industrial, scientific and technological potential as well as large educational resources. Besides, the President mentioned that Tatarstan is home to Russia’s largest IT-Park, business incubators and Alabuga Special Economic Zone. “We would like Russian and foreign investors to come to us,” he summed up. Rustam Minnikhanov also said that Tatarstan was Russia’s first region who signed a license agreement with Microsoft.
