On August 8, a representative delegation of Japanese businessmen headed by Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Japan Eiichi Hasegawa that arrived in Tatarstan to take part in Tatarstan-Japanese forum (Korston hotel, Kazan) met Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his confidence that Tatarstan and Japan have a solid cooperation potential, and some Japanese companies have long worked in the regional market, including projects in petrochemical and oil-refining industries.
Minnikhanov thanked leadership of Japan and Japanese embassy in Russia for organizing the visit of Tatarstan delegation to Tokyo in March 2016. He wished everyone effective work and finding new areas for mutually beneficial partnership.
In their turn, 23 Japanese companies presented their businesses.
According to Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Japan Eiichi Hasegawa, information and communication technologies, oil-refining, petrochemistry, automotive industry, and construction are the most prospective areas.
A representative of Japanese aviation holding told about the company’s intentions to relaunch direct flights from Japan to Moscow, and open flights from Japan to Russian Far East.
Another company presented its engineering projects in oil and gas sector.
Mitsubishi Heavy, Mitsui, and Sojitz made short presentations.
Representatives of small and medium-size enterprises came up with proposals on cooperation in metal working, development and sale of health products.
Summing up the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov said that all proposals would be considered in details and a programme of further joint work would be made up.
