Tatarstan President plays charity ice hockey game “From a Pure Heart”

On August 21, in Voskresenk, Moscow region, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov played a traditional hockey game within the framework of charity event ‘”From a Pure Heart”.

Two teams Kovalchuk-team and Kozlov-team, which Rustam Minnikhanov was playing for, took the ice. His teammates were Vyacheslav Fetisov, Vyacheslav Kozlov, Andrei Kvartalnov, and others, while their opponents were Alexander Ovechkin, Alexander Medvedev, Ilya Kovalchuk, Alexei Morozov, Arkady Dvorkovich, and others.

It was a farewell game for a world bronze champion, two-time Stanley and Gagarin Cup winner Vyacheslav Kozlov, who had announced the completion of his carrier as an ice hockey player.

The match was officially started by Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich.

The game ended with a score of 12:11 in favor of the Kozlov-team.

All funds raised from the charity hockey match will sent to the Kolomna orphanage for mentally retarded orphans and children left without parental care.
