Ildar Khalikov takes part in video-conference with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets on preparation for the start of a new academic year

On August 23, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov took part in a video-conference with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets on preparation for the start of a new academic year.

She reported that 90 schools will be commissioned by September 1 and another 95 educational institutions will be open afterwards. At the same time, the number of schools which do not meet modern requirements have reduced by 24 per cent in Russia.

Also, Golodets has given an errand to inspect all schools to check their anti-terrorist security. “Particular attention should be paid to the safety of children. First of all, this concerns anti-terrorist security. All schools should be well prepared in terms of security,” she said.

Moreover, the Deputy Prime Minister has given an errand to solve the problem with lower salaries of teachers as soon as possible. According to her, since the first half of 2016 the average salary has amounted to 36.800 roubles in the country. "The vast majority of regions are successfully executing the May decrees. But there are regions that are lagging behind and cut salaries as compared to last year. Please correct this situation as soon as possible, it is a matter of regional budgets," Golodets concluded.
