On September 13, speaking at a meeting with Chief Executive of the German Engineering Association (VDMA) in Frankfurt am Main during his working visit to Germany, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is interested in expanding contacts and supports the German businesses that come to the republic with their technologies, capital and innovative projects.
Welcoming the Tatarstan delegation, Chief Executive of VDMA Thilo Bordmann said that the machine building is one of the most important spheres in Germany, having a revenue of 218 billion euros and employing about one million people. The industry is mostly made up of small and medium businesses staffing less than 200 people.
Minnikhanov noted that the German machine building is one of the world's best branches of industry and Tatarstan is greatly interested in cooperating with Germany’s machine builders.
Currently, more than 80 German companies are doing business in Tatarstan, he added, and the region could interest the German business with its business opportunities in energy, petrochemistry, car making, aircraft building, machine building, IT, agribusiness, engineering, medicine, construction, and others.
Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov then made a presentation of the Tatarstan potential, while Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Talia Minullina told about the regional investment potential.
Concluding of the meeting, Minnikhanov invited the management of the German Engineering Association to make a business visit to Tatarstan. He also invited working groups to look into cooperation opportunities in various areas.
