Rustam Minnikhanov delivers welcoming speech at the opening of exhibition “Automechanika-2016” in Frankfurt

On September 13, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening of international specialized exhibition “Automechanika-2016” at the exhibition complex Messe Frankfurt in Frankfurt.

Before the ceremony Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with President of the International exhibition complex Messe Frankfurt Wolfgang Marzin, who told that Automechanika-2016 is the biggest exhibition of automotive components in the world and it gathered 4800 people this year.

Wolfgang Marzin also told about plans on the development of cooperation with “Kazanskaya Yarmarka” exhibition center, in particular participation of Messe Frankfurt as the operator in construction of Kazan EXPO.

Manager of Messe Frankfurt Detlef Braun welcomed participants of the exhibition and wished them successful work. He invited Rustam Minnikhanov to the stage and called Tatarstan one of the most developed regions in Russia.  

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his hope that the international situation would stabilize. “Our task is to give new impetus to business. We are glad to know about German advanced technologies, are willing to share our experience and discuss opportunities of mutually beneficial cooperation,” Minnikhanov said. He continued that a lot of exhibitions such as the 2nd International Automotive Forum are held in Tatarstan with the auspices of Messe Frankurt.

Minnikhanov informed that Tatarstan-German trade turnover made 1 bln euro in 2015, and Germany invested in 80 companies in the republic. Tatarstan successfully works with Siemens, BASF, KraussMaffei, Linde, and other companies. Moreover, the Russian-German Institute of new technologies successfully works in Kazan.

Later on the same day, members of the Tatarstan delegation looked around expositions of "ZF Friedrichshafen AG", "ZF Services", "HELLA KGaA Hueck & Co", "ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbH", and "Bosch".
