Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in business breakfast of Merck Company

On September 13, during his working trip to Germany (September 12-13, 2016), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the business breakfast of Merck Company at its headquarters in Darmstadt.

Belén Garijo, CEO Healthcare and a member of the Executive Board presented the company and told about its history. Merck is the world’s oldest pharmaceutical, chemical and biological company, and its enterprises work in 66 countries. The total number of employees makes 39 000 people.

The main areas of the company’s activity are high technology materials, biopharmaceutics, and life science.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Merck leadership for the presentation and noted that he was impressed by the growth dynamics of the company, especially its subdivision producing high technology materials.

“We produce cars in Tatarstan and are interested in the production of such materials as well as development of pharmaceutical industry. The Russian market is very large, and all these areas are prospective,” Minnikhanov said.

The president required to create a working group to work out variants of cooperation in pharmaceutical sphere.
