22 September 2016, Thursday

On September 22, at their meeting in Hannover (Federative Republic of Germany), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister of Lower Saxony discussed issues related to their further cooperation.

Minnikhanov noted that he is glad to attend the international exhibition of commercial vehicles, which is being held in Hannover these days.

We are pleased to get acquainted with the advanced German technology and are willing to discuss possibilities of development of mutually beneficial relations, he said.

As for prospects of cooperation, it is very important to continue contacting at the interregional level, Minnikhanov said. "The international political climate will be normalized. Our task today is to give the right signals to business. Tatarstan as a Russian region has gained great experience in cooperation with Germany,” he said.

Minnikhanov also noted he visits German regions frequently (in particular, in September, he paid a working visit to Frankfurt).

Minnikhanov invited Stefan Weil to pay a familiarization visit to the republic.

“We are interested in expanding contacts and will be glad to step up cooperation with the Lower Saxony," Tatarstan President said and reminded that Kazan and Braunschweig are twin cities.
