December 29, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the launch of a new unit at the Minnebayev gas processing plant, part of Tatneftegazopererabotka.

The launched unit is a DSG cryogenic unit that will raise production of processed oil gas from 53 to 91 percent. This should increase the output from 85 to 140 thousand tpa.

Rustam Minnikhanov, accompanied by his aide Rinat Sabirov, Tatneft general director Shafgat Takhautdinov and Almetiev municipal region head Rishat Abubakirov, toured the plant.

Tatneftegazpererabotka chief Farit Zakiev said the new unit was the only one in Russia. It is built on global-standard technologies, including energy saving, deep freezing (183.7 C minus), its reusing and high degree of automation. Unique imported cryogenic equipment has been used in its construction.

The unit’s capacity is 395 million cubic metres a year, of which 140 thousand tonnes of ethane and 198 million cubic metres of dry gas is produced. The investment has totalled 1.76 billion roubles.

Rustam Minnikhanov and the plant’s veteran Masgut Minnekayev pressed the button to open the flow of DSG to the cryogenic unit. Rustam Minnikhanov said implementing the project would be a great support in supplying raw material to petrochemical producers in Tatarstan.

In 2002 to 2010, a total of 3.6 billion roubles has been spent to re-equip the Minnebayev Gas Processing Plant. The schemes implemented over the time have allowed increase the supply of oil gas to the plant from 551 to 690 million cubic metres a year. Tatneftegazpererabotka is nowadays a high-technology production complex.
