On October 4, during his visit to Astana, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov discussed with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev further steps on cooperation in the sphere of trade-economic relations between Kazakhstan and the republic.
Minnikhanov informed that the new building of the representative office of Tatarstan opened in Astana that day. Also, the Consulate General and Trade representation of Kazakhstan are working in Kazan. The bilateral agreement on the principles of trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation is in force.
According to Minnikhanov, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan has increased by 20 per cent and made 215 mln US dollars for 6 months. “There are all conditions for increasing these indexes, and the potential in such spheres as mechanical engineering, helicopter engineering, petrochemistry, IT, and agriculture should be used,” he said.
