Rustam Minnikhanov lays a wreath at the Monument to the Liberators of Riga

On October 6, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is on a two-day working visit to Latvia (October 5-6) laid a wreath at the Monument to the Liberators of Riga.

Built in 1985 the memorial complex is located in the capital of Latvia on the left bank of the Daugava River behind the Stone bridge.

Initial monument name was "Monument to the Liberators of Soviet Latvia and Riga from the German Fascist Invaders".

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Aide to Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina and other officials took part in the event.
