Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov

On October 11, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov had a meeting at Oguzkhan Palace in Ashgabat.

Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and all citizens of Turkmenistan on the Independence Day and 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan.

Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov noted the contribution of Tatarstan and Rustam Minnikhanov to the support and development of international relations between Russia and Turkmenistan.

Days of the Republic of Tatarstan are being held in Ashgabat on October 10-11. Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov for supporting the events and expressed his hope for expanding cooperation in the sphere of culture, science, education and sport. He emphasized that peoples of Tatarstan and Turkmenistan have common historical, spiritual and cultural ties, and fruitful trade and economic relations.

Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his hope that the current visit of the Tatarstan delegation would be another step in strengthening relations between Russia and Turkmenistan.

Tatarstan and Turkmenistan cooperate in a number of industries. Representative offices of leading Tatarstan companies such as KAMAZ, Tatneft, KER-Holding are working in Turkmenistan.

Tatarstan President was impressed by the new Ashgabat international airport and noted that direct flights Kazan-Ashgabat are in demand.

Rustam Minnikhanov invited Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov to Tatarstan and representatives of Turkmenistan to «Kazan Summit» 2017.
