Ildar Khalikov arrives on a working visit in Saratov

On October 21, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin took part in a meeting chaired by Plenipotentiary Envoy to Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich on implementation of measures aimed at developing real sector of economy and import substitution in regions of the Volga Federal District.

Opening the meeting, Babich outlined main trends, problems and points of growth considering the potential of regions of the district in terms of import substitution.

Making a report at the meeting, Governor of the Saratov region Valery Radayev, who heads the working group in this area, voiced some proposals to deal with current problematic issues.

According to him, one of the main problems is lack of information about potential customers of import-substituting products, product features and the required volume of production. All this creates difficulties for the development of investment projects. The solution is filling the state information system "Industry" with information needed for planning investment projects. This will provide feedback for monitoring effectiveness of incentive measures.

Radayev continued that Volga Federal District has competitive advantages for developing industrial production, including import-substituting products.

Apart from substituting imported goods with domestic products, opening competitive import-substituting production facilities is the most important task to ensure the accelerated development of the real economy, the speaker pointed out.
