Ildar Khalikov meets Acting Consul General of People's Republic of China in Kazan Chen Wei

On October 31, at his meeting with Acting Consul General of People's Republic of China Chen Wei at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov said that the leadership of the republic welcomes China's decision to open the Consulate of People's Republic of China in Kazan.

According to him, the Chinese government pays great attention to mutual cooperation with Tatarstan. Khalikov pointed out that the number of economic and political contacts between China and Tatarstan have greaty increased recently. He also said that he is to pay a working visit to China on November 10, 2016.

“Our mutually beneficial cooperation is of particular importance in the light of current relations between Russian and Chinese leaders. A great number of joint projects have been implemented recently. They, in particular, include, the opening of the Haier plant in Naberezhnye Chelny, construction of the Ammoni fertilizer complex (production of urea, ammonia in the town of Mendeleevsk, Tatarstan) with participation of Chinese national chemical-engineering company,” Khalikov said.

“The prospects of such cooperation are great, but we are not using them to their potential,” Tatarstan Prime Minister continued. He also reminded about such joint projects as construction of high-speed highway "Moscow - Kazan", participation of Chinese investors in projects in the field of agriculture in Tatarstan, and others.
