Rustam Minnikhanov: Counteraction to proliferation of drugs and psychotropic substances and narcotization-preventive measures are priority goals of state

Counteraction to distribution of drugs and psychotropic substances and narcotization-preventive measures are priority state tasks in Tatarstan Republic. This was announced today by RT President Rustam Minnikhanov at joint session of anti-drug commission in RT and board of RF Department of Federal service for controlling drugs turnover on RT.
The session was held in House of RT government in format of video conference with participation of all municipal regions.
Opening the event, Rustam Minnikhanov informed that realization of the fourth republican target anti-drug program is being finished in republic. 170 mln. roubles of republican budget have been allocated for implementing measures within the limits of this program for the last 4 years.
On the whole, drug situation in republic is still complicated. Today Tatarstan is an attractive region for drug dealers. It is economically favorable region with high living standards. These factors let dealers promote their production. Rustam Minnikhanov called for paying much attention to revealing new narcotic and psychotropic substances which appear in the market.
Today all ministries and organizations should be engaged into drug prevention, Rustam Minnikhanov thinks.
Later on a film prepared specially for this event was shown to participants of the session. According to data for January 2011, 9419 drug addicts are registered in medical institutions of republic. By results of last year the number increased by 1,3 %. The largest number of drug addicts is registered in Naberezhnye Chelny, Bugulma, Zelenodolsk and Kazan.
Head of institution Fayaz Shabaev reported on results of activity of RF Department of Federal service for controlling drugs turnover on RT in 2010. He informed that 8 sorts of narcotic substances appeared in republic in 2010.
Head of Kazan Executive committee Aleksei Pesoshin reported on narcotization-preventive measures taken in Kazan.
Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that on the threshold of Universiade-2013 this issue is “number 1”.
RT Minister of education and science Albert Gilmutdinov told about work on drug abuse prevention at educational institutions of republic.
On 24 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a charity action “The Christmas Tree of Wishes” held during the 17th session of the State Council of the republic of the seventh convocation.
The Head of the Government of the republic will fulfill wishes of five-year old Landysh who dreams of a guitar, 13-year old Zariva who will get a smart speaker, eight-year old Leyla dreaming of a bike and 16-year old Evelina who will be given an e-book.
On 20 December, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and House Utilities Sector of the republic Damir Shaydullin informed that huge work in capital overhaul of 713 social and cultural facilities have been completed in the republic with the total cost of work of 15bn rubles.
On 20 December, in his address on the occasion of the Russian Security Bodies Officers Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated employees and old stagers of the service with their professional holiday and wrote: “

On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
