Rustam Minnikhanov: We consider Ford Sollers to be one of the leading enterprises in our republic

On November 12, during events held within the framework of American-Russian Business Council, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Vice President of Ford Company Stephen Biegan in San Francisco. 

Welcoming Stephen Biegan, Minnikhanov thanked him for kind words he said about the republic at the meeting dedicated to Tatarstan.

Ford Sollers, a joint venture located in Tatarstan, produces the Ford Fiesta sedan and the Ford EcoSport crossover at its plant in Naberezhnye Chelny, and the Ford Explorer, a full-size, sport utility vehicle, the Ford Kuga, a compact sport utility vehicle, and the Ford Transit, a range of light commercial vehicles, at its plant in SEZ "Alabuga". In 2015, a plant for production of engines was opened in Elabuga. 

Tatarstan President has proposed to consider the possibility of increasing the production of automotive components, which are manufactured in Tatarstan and currently used by "Ford Sollers".

"We consider Ford Sollers to be one of the leading enterprises in our republic," Minnikhanov emphasized.

In his turn Stephen Biegan thanked Minnikhanov for the meeting and expressed his confidence in the success of the joint project. According to him, Tatarstan has created the comfortable work environment in the sphere of production of cars and automotive components.

Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Minister of Information and Communications of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov, Aide to Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Minister of Economy of the republic Artem Zdunov, Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minnulina and other officials took part in the meeting.
